Update 5-16-17 10:18 a.m.
Everyday activities have resumed at the Cullman County Courthouse, according to Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry, who says the building is secure following this morning's bomb threat and evacuation.
"We received a call around 9 a.m. this morning about someone blowing up the courthouse," said Gentry. "We responded, along with the Cullman City Police, Cullman County EMA, Cullman EMS and Cullman Fire Rescue."
The investigation is ongoing, and while neither the caller nor his or her motive have been identified, multiple members of law enforcement, who do not wish to be identified because they are not authorized to speak publicly on the incident, cited today's heavy court schedule, including probation revocations, as a possible reason for the threat.
Update 5-16-17 9:58 a.m. The courthouse is now re-opened. The Tribune is awaiting an official statement from Sheriff Matt Gentry.
CULLMAN – The Cullman County Courthouse was evacuated this morning following a reported bomb threat, according to the Cullman County Sheriff's Office. Law enforcement is on the scene now.
This is a developing story.
