VINEMONT – On May 21, Seth Campbell will receive his diploma from Vinemont High School. Today, he prepared for his future following graduation when he signed an athletic scholarship with Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Georgia. Campbell will be a member of the Lions' swim team, starting this fall.

Campbell has been a member of the Cullman Swim Team since he was 9 years old, developing a pattern of success that lead to the opportunity for a collegiate scholarship.

Emmanuel College is NCAA Division II sanctioned and competes in Conference Carolinas with Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McCrae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, Southern Wesleyan University and Chowan University.

Campbell took an interest in Emmanuel and the two have worked it out to be associated in the future.

Campbell lettered in basketball, football and track at Vinemont High School. He earned honorable mention for All-Region football in 2016.

A recent highlight for Campbell was during the Cullman County Sports Hall of Fame banquet when he received the Michael Stewart Memorial Scholarship, which honors the former student athlete at Vinemont.

Campbell currently holds a 3.14 grade point average, is president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and senior class vice president. He is a member of the JROTC Color Guard, received the Junior Cadet Leadership Award and is very active at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Campbell is planning to major in kinesiology upon his arrival to Emmanuel. The new swim season for Campbell and Emmanuel will begin in mid-September and will continue into early March of 2018.
