CULLMAN – A Cullman Middle School student was struck by a vehicle this afternoon, just after school ended. The victim, who sustained what Cullman Police Chief Kenny Culpepper described as non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to Cullman Regional via ambulance.
The incident happened at approximately 3:06 p.m. on Third Avenue Northeast, just south of the school.
"The 13-year-old student walked behind another vehicle, then stepped out into the roadway," said Culpepper, who said the driver of the car that struck the child could not see the victim.
"He struck him and knocked him down," stated Culpepper.
Culpepper says the driver was a high school student.
No identities will be released, as both parties involved are minors.
