Track & Field Sectionals: Day 2 results for 4A-6A, Sections 2, 3 and 4

CORNER – Numerous athletes from the larger schools in Cullman County reached a goal this weekend in the AHSAA track and field sectionals. The reward: a trip to Gulf Shores next weekend for the 4A-7A state meet. (Click here for 1A-3A, Section 4 results) Look for additional results tomorrow.

The following have qualified from AHSAA sectional meets:

Good Hope – Class 4A, Section 2:

  • Girls 4 X 100-relay 4th 55.44

West Point – Class 5A, Section 3:

  • Taylor Eady – 1st in 100-meter hurdles 16.82
  • Sadie Junkins – 2nd in 100-meter hurdles 17.99
  • Hunter Appling – 1st in 110-meter hurdles 14.65
  • Hunter Appling – 1st in 100-meter dash 11.57
  • Hunter Appling – 1st in 300-meter hurdles 39.67
  • Hunter Appling – 1st in 200-meter dash 23.35
  • Meredith Calvert – 3rd in Shot put 22-07.50
  • Sadie Junkins – 4th in Long Jump 15-07
  • Meredith Calvert – 5th in Discus 67-09
  • Vic Bell – 4th in Javelin 60-02
  • Taylor Eady – 2nd in Triple Jump 34-05

West Point girls finish 6th in sectionals with 69 points, Mortimer Jordan was the winner with 123.
West Point 4th in sectionals with 50 points, Briarwood Christian was the winner with 123.

Fairview – Class 5A, Section 4:

  • Grant Howard – 4th in Triple Jump 39-11.50
  • Abby Schnittker – 1st in High Jump 5-00
  • Abby Schnittker – 2nd in 100-meter hurdles 17.45
  • Lorin Zehr – 5th in Shot Put 32-04.50
  • Abby Schnittker – 3rd in Triple Jump 33-03.75
  • Grant Howard – 4th in Triple Jump 40-08
  • Dylan Howard – 4th in 300-hurdles 44.86
  • Quinton Chambers – 5th in 300-hurdles 45.97

Fairview girls finished 6th in sectionals with 36 points, Scottsboro was the winner with 183 points.
Fairview was 11th in sectionals with 23.50 points, Scottsboro was the winner with 123 points.

Cullman – Class 6A, Section 4:

  • Brennon James – 5th in Javelin 146-02
  • Haley Franklin – 1st in Javelin 127-07
  • Emily Brown – 5th in Long Jump 15.05.75
  • Ann Carol Braswell – 1st in Pole Vault 10-00
  • Anna Franklin – 2nd in Pole Vault 9-00
  • Garrison Hill – 1st in Pole Vault 14-00
  • Ethan Hendrix – 4th in Pole Vault 11-00
  • Joey Franklin – 2nd in 1,600-meter 4:36.33
  • Will Kress – 4th in 110-hurdles 15.89
  • Jake Ratcliff – 4th in Discus 122-02.
  • Joey Franklin – 2nd in 800-meter 2:03.88
  • Caroline Hollingsworth – 1st in High Jump 5-00
  • Joey Franklin – 2nd in 3,200-meter 10:17.46
  • Lexi Daily – 2nd in Triple Jump 33-03.50
  • Austin Elrod – 1st in Discus 158-01
  • Tanner Jackson – 2nd in Discus 148-07
  • Emily Johnson – 1st in Discus 114-04
  • Raigan Carter – 2nd in Discus 90-07
  • Tanner Jackson – 2nd in Shot Put 47-08.50
  • Austin Elrod – 3rd in Shot Put 47-01

Cullman girls finished 3rd with 90 points, Fort Payne was the winner with 158.
Cullman is the varsity sectional champion with 116.50 points, Florence was 2nd with 73.
