Mrs. John Lewis and children, of Birmingham, are the guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Linton.
Colonel and Mrs. A.A. Griffith and son, Kenneth, have returned home from a two- week visit to Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee.
Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Young returned from Grayville, Illinois, on Friday, where they have spent several weeks at their old home.
Mrs. William Richard and daughters, Misses Anna, Mary and Wilhelmina, have returned home after spending a most delightful visit to Magnolia Beach on Mobile Bay.
Mr. Buford Thompson will arrive Sunday from Camp Wheeler, to spend several days with home folks.
Miss Lily Clapp, of Oneonta, spent Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Clapp.
Mrs. Al Richter and little daughters have returned home from a visit to relatives in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Doctor C.H. Herrin spent the first of the week in Town Creek with his daughter, who is suffering from an attack of influenza.
From the Files of 1938:
Winfred Walker, 16-year-old son of O.I. Walker, of the Berlin community, was seriously injured when his motorcycle collided with a truck driven by M.C. Lovvorn, well-known Cullman man, on a downtown street, on Monday afternoon. Young Walker was carried to the City Infirmary in Drinkard’s ambulance, where his condition was considered serious, but not critical. He received a broken right arm, a fractured leg and severe cuts about the face. No arrests were made by investigating officers.

Mr. and Mrs. O.B. Hodges were hosts, honoring the members of the West Point faculty and a few friends at their home on Wednesday evening. The event was in the form of a buffet supper.
Early spring flowers were arranged in the living room where the guests were received. A delicious plate was served to Mr. and Mrs. Roy Jordan, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pruitt, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Jordan, Mrs. Ted Boho, Mrs. Emmett Bradford, Mrs. Amon Courington, Mrs. Thomas Hendrix, Misses Nell Teem, Lida Mae Wilkinson, Lula Mae Taylor, Mary Keaton, Marion Speegle, Challie Hughes and Lois King.
Decoration Day will be held at Hopewell Baptist Church, on May 15th, 1938. The program is as follows:

FFA new officers for the Hanceville Chapter were elected at the last meeting. They included: President, Ralph Bland, Vice-President, J.C. Grimmett, Secretary, Harold Jackson, Treasurer, Ray Dunlap and Reporter, Billy Rau.
