On Saturday, April 20, 1946, James Folsom- also known as “Big Jim” Folsom- visited Cullman as part of his campaign for governor of Alabama. The Cullman native gave a speech in front of the courthouse around 2:30, and was accompanied by his band, the Strawberry Pickers.
