WEST POINT – It was tough to be a Lady Warrior Tuesday afternoon as the Hayden Lady Wildcats rolled into town for a varsity contest and rolled out with a 13-3 victory.

Savannah Woodard had a great day at the plate for Hayden, getting things going for the Lady Wildcats early. She singled to open the game, stole second on the very next pitch and came home to score on an Isabelle Johnson double to center, although Johnson was thrown out at third trying to stretch her double into a triple. Chloe Kirkland got the offense started up again with a double to center. Gracie Benton came to the plate next and promptly doubled home Kirkland to give Hayden a 2-0 lead.

Hayden went right back to work in the second when Kaitlin Kelly led off the inning with a single. A sac bunt moved the runner up and Katelyn Belding brought her home with an RBI single. Belding came home later in the inning when Woodard singled to make the score 4-0. West Point got on the board in the bottom of the inning when Avery McClure doubled with two outs and was brought home on a Jordyn Kimbrell single to make the score 4-1 after two.

Hayden tacked on three in the third, one in the fifth, one in the sixth and three in the seventh. West Point scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh with RBIs by Olivia Ball and Molly Pendley, but it was not enough. West Point fell to the Hayden Lady Wildcats 13-3.
