BERLIN – Two people were arrested late last week after officers with the Cullman City Police Department (CPD) executed a search warrant at a home on County Road 1605 in the Berlin community.
On April 6, CPD Sgt. Chris Thomason, Investigator Justin Craft, Officer Trey Higginbotham, Officer Dustin Colburn, Officer Chris Steele and Officer Cole Kelley executed a search warrant at the home of Joel Mabry, 49, of Berlin. During the search of the residence, authorities allegedly recovered 2.3 ounces of methamphetamine, along with marijuana, a handgun, rifles and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.
Mabry was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held at the Cullman County Detention Center on a $1 million bond.
Caroline Mullins, 41, of Albertville, who was at the residence at the time of the search, was found to be in possession of MDMA pills, also known as Ecstasy, along with drug paraphernalia, according to the CPD. Mullins was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Mullins was taken to the Cullman County Detention Center and booked on a $5,000 bond, but has since bonded out.
The CPD officers were assisted by Cullman County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Ryan Fortenberry, Deputy Kevin Bowers and Deputy Ryan Black at the scene.
