CULLMAN – This year’s Bloomin’ Fest Arts and Crafts Fair at St. Bernard Prep School in Cullman is just in time for all of the gorgeous spring blooms that have come bursting out over the past few days. This year’s event is scheduled for April 22-23, 2017.

The annual event, a juried two-day arts and crafts festival, which brings in thousands of visitors, vendors and volunteers, is a welcome respite from the cold days and dreary gray skies of winter, giving people the opportunity to get out and stretch their legs, get some sunshine on their faces and discover new items on display along the sidewalks of the beautiful St. Bernard campus.

This year there are new vendors, as well as your favorites from past events. Stained glass will be sparkling in the sun, along with all kinds of crafts and brightly colored needlework. You’ll also find folk art, hand-painted windows, metal art, recycled sculpture, leather goods, purses, wall art and furniture, handmade soaps and much more. With approximately 140 vendors on hand, the selection of gifts and artwork at this event is incredible!

New this year are Sandra Abbott, of Cullman, who will display her beautiful handcrafted pottery. Sandra Tucker, with handcrafted quilts, and Joyce Branch who makes delightful hand-painted signs, among others. Among returning festival favorites are Talmadge Butler, who does amazing woodwork, Blacksmith Allan Kress, Tammy Hill with children’s clothing, Larry Couch who makes charming birdhouses, and Chad Nelson, with handcrafted pottery. Other crafters will have booths filled with stained glass, plants, jewelry and so many things room doesn’t permit them all here; this festival is huge!

The world-famous Ava Maria Grotto, just across the street, is a must-see, one of a kind attraction.

Of course, there will be food for the hungry, benches for the weary and music for the soul. Come out and spend a lovely day among the booths and on the campus of St. Bernard; you’ll have a great time!
