FAIRVIEW – More than 150 people gathered at Fairview Town Park Saturday night for what First Baptist Church of Fairview hopes to make an annual event: the Fairview Community Flashlight Easter Eggstravaganza.

Festivities began at 7 p.m. at the park and included food, drinks, door prizes, the Easter story, and of course, the egg hunt.

Community member Kristy Harris took part in leading the event. She says that about 40 members of the congregation volunteered their time to host the event.

Before the flashlight eggstravaganza hunt, Harris shared a biblical story explaining the crucifixion of Jesus using eggs to relay the story of the holiday’s traditions.

After the flashlight egg hunt, door prizes were given away. Items included both a boys’ and a girls’ bicycle, Easter baskets for each age group and small tokens of appreciation for members of the community supporting the church.

The church will soon be hosting Love or Lost which will present the Easter story walk-through April 12-13, from 6-9 p.m., and April 14-15, from 6-10 p.m. Find the event on Facebook at http://qrne.ws/walkthrough.
