CULLMAN – Former Cullman County Sheriff David Laney passed away early this morning at his home. He was 60 years old.
Cullman County Coroner Jeremy L. Kilpatrick says Laney died of natural causes.
Laney served as sheriff from January 1991- January 1995. He was also a poultry farmer.
Visitation will be Thursday, beginning at 6 p.m. at Cullman Funeral Home. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Cullman Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be at Berlin Cemetery.
The Cullman County Sheriff's Office, as well as the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department, have lowered their flags to half-staff.
