Corn is so scarce that a great many Georgia families, who arrived here last fall, have had trouble getting enough to meet their demand.
Miss Alice McNabb and Frank Hoefscher were married on Wednesday, at 9:00 a.m., at the Catholic Church. Miss Theresa Hoelscher was bridesmaid and George J. Beyer was best man.
J.E. Woolsey, of Cullman, made a speech at the third annual meeting of the State Horticultural Society meeting in Thorsby.
Miss Una C. Lane, a social favorite in Cullman and John Culbreath, of Warren, Arkansas were married here on Monday.
J.H. Mayes, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin has located in Cullman.
Guy Jones is now employed at Loveman, Joseph and Loeb, in Birmingham.
The Majestic Manufacturing Company of Saint Louis will have a man at C.A. Stiefelmeyer’s all next week to demonstrate the baking of biscuits, with both top and bottom burner, in three minutes. Adv.
A.S. Sutton, of Walter, was in town on Thursday and bought a fine surrey.
Miss Florence Weatherford, of Athens, is visiting Miss Emma Adkins.
Miss Lucy Sells, of Thomasville, Georgia is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Owen McKoy.
Miss Sarah Parker returned to Cincinnati, Ohio, on Friday. She is studying at the Conservatory of Music there.

Mr. and Mrs. Houston Lovelace are parents of a son, born on Tuesday, whom they have named Douglass Saint John.
Death came this week to J.C. Norwood, 68, who for the past 22 years has been editor of The Cullman Tribune.
The old J. Mackentepe Store, on the corner of Highway 31 and Third Street West is being torn down and a modern filling station will be built there. The Mackentepe Store has already been moved to the new building next door.
