CULLMAN – The Link of Cullman County will host its 2017 annual event and fundraiser on March 2 at The Link of Cullman County Community Place, 708 Ninth Street SE.  Festivities will begin with a ribbon cutting at noon with the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce and Cullman Mayor Woody Jacobs.

From noon-4 p.m. the new campus will be open to the public and silent auction items will be viewable. The Link will close from 4-5 p.m. to prepare for the evening’s events. Doors will open for ticketed guests at 5 p.m. Guests will enjoy an open house and walking dinner from 5-7 p.m. and will have the opportunity to bid on silent auction items until 6:30 p.m.

The formal program will begin at 7 p.m.

“We’re celebrating five years of The Link and what God has done in the past year as well,” said Dawn Owens, founder and executive director. “It will be during the formal program after the walking dinner at 7 p.m. where we share our vision for the future and ask people to help support that.”

Tickets to the event are still available for $25 each or $40 for a couple, but there are only 300 available seats. Call 256-775-0028 to purchase a ticket. Tickets are also available online at https://linkingcullman.org/annualevent.

“We are aiming to raise $60,000 the night of the event,” said Owens. “Sponsors are still available for the event. Our gold sponsor is Dr. Jonathan Echols Cullman Cosmetic and Family Dentistry.”

According to Owens, all proceeds from the event will go to supporting the ministry of The Link.

The Link of Cullman County is a faith-based nonprofit that is working to break the cycle of poverty through encouragement, education and employability training.
