CULLMAN COUNTY – Agents with the Cullman Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET) and investigators with the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) on Friday arrested eight individuals for various drug charges in two separate incidents.
After a tip from a local resident, CNET agents visited Countryside Acres in Fairview where drug activity was believed to be occurring. Agents searched a residence where five suspects were discovered 2 grams of methamphetamine, two Hydrocodone pills and a suboxone strip.
Arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia were:
- Scotty Eugene Lewis, 31, of Hanceville, $5,000 bond
- Brandee Marie Hodges, 30, of Decatur, $5,000 bond
- Cassidy Rae Hodges, 22, of Decatur, $5,000 bond
- Raymond Scott Grantland, 32, of Cullman, $5,000 bond
- Jonathan Paul Grantland, 30, of Falkville, $10,000 bond (Also has an additional charge of promoting prison contraband)
In a separate incident, CNET and CCSO investigators executed a search warrant on County Road 1568 in the Simcoe/Fairview community. During the search, 50 Soma pills, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found.
Arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia were:
- Sarah Dionna McDonald, 57, of Cullman, $7,000 bond
- Nathaniel Dewayne Johnson, 26, of Boaz, no bond. Johnson has a felony escape warrant with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office
- Elizabeth Denise Andrews, 32, of Boaz, no bond. Andrews also has a non-support (child support) warrant with the CCSO, as well as other warrants from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Boaz Police Department and Arab Police Department.
In all CCSO seized more than 2 grams of meth, 52 pills, a suboxone strip, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.
“The majority of these suspects were not from Cullman County, and I am glad they are now behind bars. The new opioid that drug dealers are selling and getting all ages of people addicted to is pills,” said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry. “I would like to thank the CNET agents and investigators for the long hours and great job they did yesterday.”
