Hanceville man arrested with meth, hydrocodone

CULLMAN – Cullman City Police officers conducting a traffic stop on a Ford Ranger pickup with a switched tag found that the passenger in the vehicle, Billy Alexander Parson, 20, of Hanceville had outstanding warrants with the state.

Sgt. Chris Thomason and Officer Trey Higginbotham conducted the traffic stop, where it was also discovered that neither Parson nor the driver of the vehicle had a valid driver’s license. 

Thomason and Higginbotham recovered methamphetamine, hydrocodone pills and drug paraphernalia from the passenger side where Parson was sitting.  Parson claimed all items inside the vehicle, according to the CPD, and was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Parson is currently being held in the Cullman County Detention Center on a $20,000 bond.
