CULLMAN – The 44th annual Cullman Rotary Club Auction will be held on Friday, March 10 at the Cullman Civic Center. Proceeds will benefit local charities, projects and other community causes.

Tickets will also be available at the auction. Ticket holders do not have to be present to win.

“The items up for auction are donated by local businesses, industries and individuals and are a great representation of the compassion and generosity of our community. Contributors of the items are recognized at the time of auction. The auction is Cullman Rotary Club’s only fundraiser for the year and it helps us to provide charitable donations throughout the community,” said Fundraising Chair Charlie NeSmith.

Items up for bid have included:  vacation packages, grills, TVs, electronics, bicycles, home furnishings, tools, pet supplies, collectibles, oil changes, restaurant meal certificates, gift cards, legal services, massages, etc.

The auctioneer for the event will be Joe Hagan.

“In the past, we have raised as much as $50,000 to go to local charities and projects and we hope with some hard work we will exceed that total this year,” said current Rotarian President Dale Greer.

Cullman Rotary Club donates throughout the year to a variety of organizations and programs including: Cullman Caring for Kids, Daystar House, Wallace State Foundation, Brooks Place/Child Advocacy Center, Good Samaritan Clinic, public schools, Boy Scouts of America, Cullman Farm City, Cullman Rotary Park repairs, Childhaven, HOPE, Cullman County Head Start, Margaret Jean Jones (CCCDD) Center, American Cancer Society and D.A.R.E.
