CULLMAN – The City of Cullman today removed all water restrictions from city water customers. The move comes more than four months after restrictions were first put in place due to a severe drought.
According to David Freeman, manager of the Cullman City Water Treatment Plant, Lake Catoma is now 9 feet below full pool.
“The lake has risen with the recent rains,” said Mayor Woody Jacobs. “We thank everyone for conserving water these past few months. Now we just hope that the Lord continues to send rain and that the lake is full again soon.”
The City of Cullman enacted Phase II of its Emergency Water Conservation Plan back in late October, when Catoma fell to 15 feet below full pool, then Phase III in January when it hit 22 feet.
