Sara Darlene Smith, 62, of Haleyville, entered into rest on February 3, 2017 at St. Vincent's Hospital.
Mrs. Smith was born on December 12, 1954 in Haleyville. Darlene was a member of Philadelphia Deliverance Tabernacle. She was a driving instructor and received several driving awards. Darlene loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017 from 12pm-2pm at Philadelphia Deliverance Tabernacle in Lynn, where services will be held at 2pm. Brother John Autry will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Double Springs.
Darlene is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Donald Carlton Smith; sons, William Pervie (Amanda) Walker, Robert (Tiffany) Smith; brothers, Marvin Eugene Martin, James Edward Gray, Billy Joe Gray; sisters, Kathy Smith, Gloria (Tim) Pelt; Wanda Lee McGhee, and Suzie (Randall) Barber. She was "Mawmaw" to 8 grandchildren, Barbara LaShae Maynor, William Riley Walker, Madyson Smith, Dylan Smith, Caiden Smith, Liam Smith, Meagan Smith, and Emily Smith.
She was preceded in death by her father, C.B. Martin; mother, Lexie Loverta Hood; brother, Talmadge Vernon Gray; and sister, Lexie Beatrice Oliver.
