HOLLY POND – In their last games before the Cullman County Basketball Tournament, the Holly Pond Broncos and Lady Broncos hot clocked the visiting Vinemont Eagle and Lady Eagles.
For the 23rd straight time the Holly Pond Broncos won the tip and as they so often do, they turned it into points with a layup by Drew Jones. The Broncos scored the next 10 points before Vinemont got on the board with a basket by Corbin Barnett. Seth Campbell and Garrett Boland also added points for the Eagles, but the Broncos continued to pour in the points and take a 22-7 lead after one.
Holly Pond opened up the second on a 21-0 run on the strength of a trifecta of threes from Michael Lambert. Boland scored the first points for Vinemont in the quarter but only scored four points total in the quarter and trailed 50-11 heading to halftime.
The Broncos continued to apply pressure to Vinemont as the came out of the locker room, going on a 10-2 run that gave them a 47-point lead midway through the quarter. The Broncos kept their foot on the gas for the rest of the quarter to take a 68-15 lead to the final frame. Playing with a hot clock in the fourth, Vinemont outscored Holly Pond 9-8 but fell to the Broncos 76-25.

It was all Holly Pond from the opening tip, with the Lady Broncos scoring from three-point range as well as the paint, all while playing smothering defense, holding the Lady Eagles to just eight points in the first half while they scored an impressive 55 themselves.
Holly Pond picked up right where they left off to start the second. Hailey Higginbotham dropped in a quick bucket while Taylor Tankersley and Kolby Holcombe drilled back-to-back threes to push the Lady Bronco lead to 40. Holly Pond scored seven more in the quarter while holding Vinemont scoreless.
Starting the fourth under the hot clock rule, Holly Pond scored just two points while Vinemont added four. The Lady Broncos took a 57-12 victory.
