Obituary: Myrtle Pauline Overton

Myrtle Pauline Overton, 85, of Double Springs, entered into rest on January 15, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Overton was born on April 6, 1931 in Moulton. She worked at Hendrix Health Care for over 30 years in the dietary department. She enjoyed cross stitching, bird watching, reading, piecing quilts and flower gardens. She also loved gospel singings.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 6pm-9pm at Fairview Church in Double Springs, where services will be held on Tuesday at 2pm. Brother Levi Overton will officiate. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

She is survived by her sons, Larry Overton, Fredy Overton, and Curtis Overton and his wife Ellie; daughter, Doris Brookes; she was “Mamaw Pauline” to 10 grandchildren, Juanita Woods, Jerice (Mike) Chambers, Richard (Naomi) Brookes, Corey (Angela) Overton, Bryan Overton, Stacee Overton, Ricky (Taelor) Overton, Jeffrey Wiess, Sean (Erica) Overton, and Steven Overton; and 16 great grandchildren, Malarie Beasley, Cullen (Ashtyn) Beasley, Michaela Chambers, Jessica Narramore, Aaron (Charley) Page, Kelsey Page, Ashley Sims, Adam Overton, Madison Overton, Matthew Overton, Mason Overton, Jayden Overton, Stephane Nichols, Shelley Maury, and Alora Nichols; 7 great great grandchildren, Alex Narramore, Bryce Page, Juliet Maury, Alana Maury, Jasmine Weill, Kerrie Weill and Sky Weill; a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of New Beacon Hospice: Greg, Megan, Carla, Cassie and Misty.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Overton; parents, Luther and Alice Brewer; granddaughter, Brandi Overton; brothers, Edward and Earl Brewer; sisters, Hazel Drane, Gladys Martin, Irene Russell and Sally Strickland.
