CULLMAN – A stabbing on Cullman's west side earlier this evening resulted in a man being airlifted to Huntsville Hospital with possible life-threatening injuries. The incident happened at Dripping Springs Apartments on Dripping Springs Road, according to Cullman City Police Chief Kenny Culpepper.
"There was a stabbing, and the victim has been life-flighted out," confirmed Culpepper. "We do have a suspect in custody."
Culpepper says that Officer Kelley Hubbard responded to a call about an altercation at approximately 6 p.m.
"Once she arrived, she found the victim had been stabbed," said Culpepper, who says that there was a party happening in the apartment at the time of the incident.
"After talking to partygoers, there was a suspect," he continued. "We learned that he left on foot, and was picked up by another car. Our officers found him, and he is at the police station now."
Culpepper says that several subjects inside the apartment were drinking.
"We're still trying to figure out what happened. It is my understanding that everyone at the party was impaired."
