VINEMONT – A Vinemont man is behind bars for allegedly stealing multiple weapons from an area flea market, including guns, knives and swords.

Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) investigators on Wednesday arrested Joshua Wayne Moon, 31 for two counts of third-degree burglary, second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

The owner of the Cullman Flea Market on Monday contacted the CCSO when it was suspected a burglary had been committed at the business. Swords and knives were taken, with the entry point being the back door.

Later that night, the business was burglarized a second time after the owner partially repaired the door. This time, several guns and other miscellaneous items were taken.

While following up on the case, CCSO investigators obtained information identifying a possible suspect. Soon after, the suspect, Moon, was located with the stolen property and arrested at his residence.

All of the stolen items were recovered and are being returned to the owner.

“I am glad the investigators were able to recover the property in such a short time for the owners and the thief is now behind bars,” said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry.

Moon is being held in the Cullman County Detention Center on a $32,000 bond ($15,000 cash bond and $17,000 property bond).
