CULLMAN – The Link of Cullman County is excited to announce that because of three generous donors, individuals who wish to give from now until midnight on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 29, can do so and have their dollars matched up to $55,000. This is part of The Link of Cullman County’s end of the year campaign, “One Heart at a Time" to raise money in order to transform 858 people through encouragement, education and employability training.

The Link of Cullman County is a faith-based nonprofit working to break the cycle of poverty through encouragement, education and employability training and since its inception in 2012 has served more than 8,000 people from 5 years old to adulthood in 23 different locations across our county.  The ministry was founded by Executive Director Dawn Owens.

“It is such a blessing to see people want to be a part of a vision that we firmly feel God gave us to minister relationally to those in poverty,” said Owens. “It is because of these three donors we are going to be able to engage this community and beyond in a generosity movement that has the potential to transform our community forever, one heart at a time. We are extremely grateful to these donors, who have been longtime champions of The Link, for their willingness to put up these matched dollars."

On Giving Tuesday, The Link will be participating in an online giving campaign that will have them competing with nonprofits all across the United States for cash prizes. To learn more about The Link of Cullman County and their campaign, visit to www.linkingcullman.org/donate.

The Link will also be hosting a Swamp John’s dinner from 4-7 p.m. at their new location, The Community Place at 708 Ninth Ave. SE in Cullman on Giving Tuesday. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the door or in advance at The Community Place.

The Link will be celebrating the support they receive throughout the day, giving tours of the space that is still being renovated, as well as enjoying the company of board, staff and the neighbors who have been served over the years.
