WEST POINT – One man lost his life yesterday in what authorities at the time classified as a traffic incident on Highway 157 North near West Point. When reached early this morning for an update, a trooper with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said, "That was a medical call."
The crash occurred at approximately 4 p.m. Monday near the 8200 block of Highway 157 North, according to Cullman County Coroner Jeremy L. Kilpatrick, who confirmed one fatality.
Cullman County Deputy Coroner Samuel Tucker pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Emergency responders from West Point worked the scene, along with deputies from the Cullman County Sheriff's Office.
The victim's name has not yet been released, pending notification of family.
