DOUBLE SPRINGS – The Addison Bulldogs entered the final week of the regular season looking to cap off a perfect season against their rivals from down Highway 278, the Winston County Yellow Jackets, who entered Friday night’s contest at 1-7. The Bulldogs prevailed 57-28.
On the first drive of the game Winston County marched methodically down the field for six behind the arm of sophomore quarterback Ethan Moore. The Addison offense responded with a touchdown of their own when senior fullback Zeb Maze plunged in from 3 yards out. From that point on, the Yellow Jackets were unable to score again until late in the second half with the game well out of reach. The Bulldogs’ offensive attack could not be stopped, going on a 23-0 scoring run to close out the half.
It was all Bulldogs in the third quarter as well with senior quarterback/running back Noah Rice leading the way with running backs Ben Robinson, Gage Gilliland and Zayne Guthrie each adding touchdowns of their own.
Winston County found some success through the air in the fourth quarter against Addison’s JV defense as Ethan Moore threw for two touchdowns with one interception.
