COLONY – Multiple volunteer fire departments are on the scene of a wildfire near the town of Colony near Interstate 65 and Highway 91. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Cullman County Fire and EMS Dispatch confirmed that the fire was first reported at 11:26 a.m. and that six departments are actively engaged, including Colony, Logan, Good Hope, Garden City, Dodge City and Arkadelphia. The Alabama Forestry Commission has also been called, as well as backup firefighters from Blount County.
The fire is in the same area where multiple fires have burned in the past several days.
