CULLMAN – Postseason play for volleyball in the Alabama High School Athletic Association begins Monday and Tuesday with the first segment, area tournaments.
Classes 1A-3A will play on Monday with the 4A-7A to play Tuesday. The format is best of five in single elimination. Teams that reach the championship in their respective areas will advance to the AHSAA North Super Regional next weekend at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville.
Here is the schedule of our local teams in area tournament play:
MONDAY:
- 1A, Area 12 @ Addison
- Addison vs. Marion County/Brilliant winner 3:30 p.m.
- Meek vs. Lynn 5 p.m.
- Finals 6:30 p.m.
2A, Area 10 @ Altamont-Birmingham
- Cold Springs vs. Tarrant 5 p.m.
- Winner vs. Altamont 7 p.m. (Finals)
2A, Area 13 @ Tanner
- St. Bernard vs. Falkville 4:30 p.m.
- Winner vs. Tanner 6 p.m. (Finals)
3A, Area 11 @ Holly Pond
- Holly Pond vs. Susan Moore 4 p.m.
- J.B. Pennington vs. Locust Fork 5 p.m.
- Finals 6 p.m.
3A, Area 12 @ Carbon Hill
- Vinemont vs. Carbon Hill 1:45 p.m.
- Hanceville vs. Oakman 3 p.m.
- Finals 4:30 p.m.
TUESDAY:
- 4A, Area 10 @ Cordova
- Good Hope vs. Dora 2 p.m.
- Winner vs. Cordova 3 p.m. (Finals)
5A, Area 12 @ Fairview
- Fairview vs. Curry 4 p.m.
- West Point vs. Hayden 5:15 p.m.
- Finals 6:30 p.m.
6A, Area 14 @ Albertville
- Albertville vs. Fort Payne 4 p.m.
- Cullman vs. Brewer 5:30 p.m.
- Finals 7 p.m.
AHSAA North Super Regionals:
- Class 1A: Thursday & Friday
- Class 2A: Friday & Saturday
- Class 3A: Thursday & Friday
- Class 4A: Friday & Saturday
- Class 5A: Thursday & Friday
- Class 6A: Friday & Saturday
Sixteen teams between Areas 9 and 16 will play in Huntsville. The odd classifications will be on Thursday with Round of 16 followed by quarterfinals. Semifinals and finals for 1A, 3A and 5A will be Friday.
Game times will be announced following completion of area tournament play.
