Update: Oct. 8, 7:35 p.m. Traffic slowly returning to normal, as the scene has been cleared.
CULLMAN COUNTY – Traffic is still backed up in the northbound lanes of Interstate 65 near mile marker 296 due to a one-car incident with injuries, confirmed the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
Troopers on the scene of the incident, where at least one person has been transported by Air Evac Lifeteam to an area hospital.
Motorists are urged to use caution and find an alternate route if possible.
Traffic is backed up at least until exit 291, if not further at this time.
