FAIRVIEW – The Town of Fairview was scheduled to hold a council meeting Monday evening, but due to sickness two council members, Henri Derrick and Paula Edge, were unable to attend. The council instead held an unofficial meeting with Mayor-Elect Keith Henry in attendance to show him the ropes as he is set to assume office next month.

Dale Seals, current mayor of Fairview, informed Henry about the town’s senior center project and stated, “We haven’t had a chance to meet with him to go over anything yet so we want him to get up to speed on everything so he is good to go (when) he takes office next month.”

Henry said he “felt a little overwhelmed” about being the mayor as he was told about the various projects being worked on and debts owed by the town.

There was also an informal going away party for Seals Monday evening as it was the last council meeting he will preside over as mayor.
