FAIRVIEW – The Fairview Town Council met Monday evening, with all members of the council in attendance.
The minutes from the August meeting were approved, and the council quickly moved ahead to old business.
It was reported that the plans for the new Fairview Senior Center have passed all inspections and the builders have been given approval to get started on the building.
The council discussed the town’s official Labor Day festivities that took place earlier this month, sponsored by the Fairview Lions Club. The council reported “a great turnout” and said “the greased pig event, supported by the Town, was great fun for the kids.”
In new business, the need for tree trimming on Brock Street and Pearson Street was addressed. The trees have branches hanging low, hitting the school bus. The Town will be looking into hiring someone to trim the trees.
The payment of all bills payable were approved.
The next Town Council meeting will be Monday, Oct. 3 at the Fairview Town Hall. The public is welcome to attend.
