HANCEVILLE – Wallace State’s 19th-ranked volleyball team swept Lawson State on the road Wednesday night, winning 30-28, 25-14, 25-18.
Wallace State, the seven-time defending Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) champion, has won 30 conference matches in a row dating back to October 2013.
Sophomore Cierra Davis led Wallace State (2-0, 2-0 ACCC) against the Cougars, finishing with 14 digs and eight kills, and MaKenzie Bearden added seven kills and three digs.
Freshman libero Emily Wilson racked up 23 digs, Abby Borden had 23 assists and Holly Posey added nine assists.
Good Hope product Kaylee Maddox had eight kills and four digs, Kelsea Bivins had six kills and Kati Thomas added five kills.
Wallace State opened conference play on Aug. 25, sweeping Faulkner State, 25-12, 25-21, 26-24.
Wallace State is in Ohio today as the Lions begin play in a three-day tournament hosted by Owens Community College. They are scheduled to play six matches over the weekend.
Wallace State’s next conference match is Wednesday at Snead State.

Wallace State’s tennis teams invite the community to the tennis courts on Thursday, Sept. 8 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. to meet the teams and compete in matches against the Wallace State players.
