CULLMAN – It is time for the annual registration or renewal of homestead exemptions for those age 65 and older. Property owners 65 and older can qualify for an extra discount on homestead ad valorem taxes, but must register for it per Alabama law.
To make it easier for residents to understand the actions required of them in order to claim this exemption, Cullman County Revenue Commissioner Barry Willingham will be visiting the area’s senior centers over the coming weeks to speak with senior citizens and answer any questions they may have about the process.
