BETHEL – Members of the Cullman Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET) and Cullman County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) deputies on Thursday arrested Donovan Casey Odom, 44, of Cullman following a traffic stop on County Road 813 near Bethel.
After CNET agents and deputies had the vehicle pulled over, they began speaking with Odom and his passenger and later noticed Odom was wearing a wig to disguise his identity.
The officers found 4 grams of ICE, a purer form of methamphetamine, $1,400 in cash, 1 gram of marijuana, 30 alprazolam (trade name Xanax) pills, three hydrocodone pills, syringes and other drug paraphernalia.
Odom was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Odom was also found to have had failure to appear (FTA) warrants for the following: two counts of second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana, trafficking of controlled substances, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, two counts of unlawful possession of marijuana and two counts of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
“Any time this many pills and this much meth is recovered and taken off the streets it makes our community safer,” said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry. “I would like to thank CNET and the deputies for their good work on this case.”
Odom is currently being held in the Cullman County Detention Center on an $18,000 cash bond.
