Monday evening 8/15/2016, Pearlie Kendrick of Double Springs left this life to join her family in the Kingdom of Heaven.
She was born in Double Springs, Alabama June 20, 1934 to Tom & Bessie Overton. Sisters, Sleetie, Lola, Mildred & future brother Jim all lived in a household filled with love. Life was not always easy though. After 2 bouts of rheumatic fever, she recovered to eventually be named Maid of Cotton at WCHS. Yes, she was beautiful in both body and spirit. Life would take her to many places; Alaska, New Mexico, Kwajalein, Marshall Islands, Colorado, Huntsville & finally back home to Double Springs. Along the way she married Robert “Sam” Kendrick and had two children, Jim & Beth. Later, adopting a 3rd, Chris. All were present when she passed on Monday night. She is loved and she will be missed.
Special thanks to those who stopped by, Jean, Stephen & Kendra Overton, Mildred Garner, George Chambers & Hospice Nurse Rhonda Marks.
It was Pearlie’s request that the service be immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Double Springs Public Library. P.O. Box 555 Double Springs, Alabama 35553.
