Cullman Farmer's Market – Festhalle– Starts at 7 a.m.
Fresh, local produce, breads and meats, along with plants and crafts. The Farmer's Market is now open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. through October. Located at 209 First Ave. NE.
Hanceville Farmer's Market– Starts at 7 a.m.
The Hanceville Farmer's Market has locally-grown fruits, vegetables and meats, as well as arts and crafts. They are open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Located at 200 Bangor Ave.
Alabama 4-H Mud Run– Starts at 7:30 a.m.
Saturday, Aug. 13 from 7:30 a.m.-noon at Stony Lonesome. The 4-H Mud Run will be a 5K (3.1 miles) obstacle course race at the Stony Lonesome OHV Park located in Cullman County. There will even be a 1-mile fun run and mud pit for the younger participants. Registration opens at 7:30 and the race will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Cullman County Democrats Monthly Meeting- Starts at 8 a.m.
Come out to our Cullman County Democrats' meeting, Saturday, Aug. 13 at 8 a.m. at the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce. Our guest speaker will be Bo Boyd from the Birmingham area. She was a delegate to the recent Democratic Convention and has been a strong Democrat working (among other Democratic activities) for past Clinton campaigns. She is a fireball for all things Democrat, and we look forward to her message to our group. So come on out and join the fun and discussion! Light breakfast served for $7.
Karma in Cullman Monthly Canned Food Yard Sale– Starts at 10 a.m.
We will be hosting our monthly canned food yard sale this weekend Aug. 11-13 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Bring 10 nonperishable food items, or if you prefer $5 donation (used to help us have power at the office), and we will give you a 13-gallon bag OR box if you like knickknacks better. We do this once a month to help rotate out some stuff, help rebuild our food pantry and help the community get some great deals just by helping their fellow human being. Some items that we would LOVE to receive are spaghetti noodles and sauce, beans, mac and cheese, soups, peanut butter, chili, ramen noodles, flour, sugar, tea bags and anything that we can give to a family and they can make a MEAL. We welcome anything but please make sure it is IN DATE. We cannot give out-of-date food so just check the dates. Cullman County Tax Debate– Starts at 1 p.m.
The Cullman County Personnel Board will host a debate on Cullman County taxes on Saturday, Aug. 13 from 1-4 p.m. at Fairview High School. The public is invited to attend. Rep. Randall Shedd, R-Fairview (District 11) and Rep. Corey Harbison, R-Good Hope (District 12) will be in attendance, along with the staff of the Cullman County Commission.
Fancher Education and Tutoring Services Open House– Starts at 2 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 13 at 2 p.m. through Sunday, Aug. 14 at 5 p.m. 811 Second Ave SW in Cullman. No enrollment if you sign up during the event! Come check out our new facility and see what we have to offer! Stop by any time during the day for a tour, and after 2 p.m. for ice cream, bounce houses and more.Our after-school program picks up from East, West, and CMS AND stays open till 6:30p. Enrollment fee regularly $30, but is waived during Open House.

A Midsummer Night’s Run– Starts at 6 p.m.
Wallace State Onteona is partnering with HomeTown Bank to support an evening of fun, running and fundraising for Blount County and City Schools. Wallace State students, faculty and staff are welcome to participate in the 5K, Kids Fun Run, or to volunteer to help with the First Aid Booth.
The Aug. 13 event includes a 5K run at 6 p.m., followed by a Kids Fun Run at 7 p.m. The family event will offer food, live music, inflatables and fireworks.
General entry is $10 for those who want to enjoy the festivities but not run in either race. Admission to the Kids Fun Run is $25 and includes a cotton runner shirt. Admission to the 5K is $50 and includes a timed chip and moisture-wicking runner shirt.
