Thank you, Deputy Nunn

Last week, my husband and I were going south on Interstate 65 when we hit a piece of steel in the road. One tire blew right away. Because of it being a steel tire, it caused my minivan to go to the left, which was the median. Everyone backed off so I got there safely. That's when I saw the blue lights behind me.

What a welcome sight. Cullman County Sheriff's Deputy (Patrol Sgt.) David Nunn had been going the same direction and stopped behind us. He was a very welcome sight. He stayed with us and helped any way he could. He blocked the road so I could move my van to the emergency lane. He helped with changing the tire because the rim was gone, too. We called a service truck from McGriff, but Mr. Nunn got down on the ground, too.

He had asked where my spare was, and I told him between the driver's and passenger's seats up front. Yes, I know. A very odd place for it, but it's there. He didn't think I was right, but he looked, too and said that was a first for him to see a spare tire in that place under a car.

He looked at me and said,"You were right, it was there."

I said, "I wasn't lying about it." Lol. It was so funny.

I would just like him to know we really appreciated him being with us that day. He went above and beyond his call of duty for us and the other lady who also hit that same piece of steel. It was just two of us who hit it, and it was removed from the road so no one else hit it.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SERVICE, DEPUTY NUNN!!!!

He was very professional and very courteous. He is a good asset to our Sheriff's Office. We need more like him.
