Commission on Aging Scam Jam & Health Fair
Friday, Aug. 5 at 9 a.m. at The Beech Center at 1803 Beech Ave. SE in Cullman. Door Prizes, Lunch Provided (for the first 250 attendees), Drawings. Learn about today’s scams and what you can do to protect yourself and what to do if you have fallen victim to fraud. Guest speakers will be local law enforcement. There will be a health fair: bone density screenings, BMI checks, blood pressure checks, home health, assisted living and rehab, and massage therapy.
Gaylon Ponder, owner of Words+, will make a presentation on Friday, Aug. 5 at 3 p.m. in the town’s Educational Complex. The Town of Colony’s back-to-school kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Aug. 5 at the Educational Complex. The kickoff will be an event where the distribution of basic school supplies will take place. The event will also serve as the wrap up to the summer program for the town. The Educational Complex is located at 151 Byars Road, Hanceville, AL 35077.
Bring the family to C.W. Day park Friday, Aug. 5 from 6-8 p.m. and enjoy food, getting to know your local law enforcement (including Hanceville police, Cullman City PD, Cullman County Sheriff's Office, ALEA Troopers, Hanceville Fire Dept., just to name a few), weather-permitting there may be a helicopter or two.
