CULLMAN – Within the last hour a dual incident occurred at the intersection of Highways 31 and 157. The first incident was minor and the two parties chose not to report it and handled it themselves. The second incident was a result of road rage, following the preceding incident, involving two separate parties.

“This is still under investigation,” said Cullman City Police Officer Joey Duncan. “But what we know right now is we had a minor accident involving (a motorcyclist) and a (driver of a small white pick-up truck), and it basically turned into a road-rage incident. One of the drivers got assaulted in the face. There was another accident, one of them was a family member, and one was a bystander and they did not want to report, and they chose to work it out themselves.”

The incident caused east-bound traffic on Highway 157 to be slowed to a single lane for a short time.

There were only two parties involved in the incident that is under investigation.
