Funeral Services for Mr. Kenneth Martin, 79, of Holly Pond, will be Monday, August 1, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. Interment following the service at Holly Pond Cemetery. Rev. Justin Edwards and Rev. Melissa Holmes officiating. He was born in 1937 to Herma and Scottie McGriff Martin in Cullman Co.
Mr. Martin passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family and close friends. He worked as a drive line operator with Drummond Coal and later a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Martin had been an avid drag racer for several years. He owned and drove his own dragster and was well liked and respected among local racers.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Martin is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Martha C. Martin; daughters, Tina Edwards and Kimberly Martin (Scotty James); grandchildren, Khristin Edwards, Justin (Dawn) Edwards, Kasey (Nolan) Hunt, Matthew Martin, Temisha James, and Heaven; Great grandchildren, Collins Abigail Hunt, Lincoln Edwards, and Olivia Martin; brother Quintin “Buck” (Liz) Martin; sister, Juanita Hipp; a faithful friend, a Siberia Husky named Doc.
Visitation will be Monday, August 1, from 12: noon until service time at 2 p.m. Flowers accepted, or make donations to Holly Pond Cemetery Fund.
