GARDEN CITY – The Garden City Town Council came together on Monday evening for a regularly scheduled meeting. The meeting began with a call to order by Mayor Tim Eskew, which was followed by the invocation and Pledge.

Old business that was addressed was the amending of resolution no. 349, naming Leneta Pender as the town’s election official.

New business included the passing of resolution no. 350, allowing roofing and computer materials to be surplussed.

A Cullman County Soil and Water Conservation funding request was tabled in order for the council to research the topic and have further discussions.

Eskew and a community member talked about the potential for the Town to purchase a set of solar panels to produce energy that would be sold back to the co-op. The council tabled the discussion in order to look into the subject further.

There was a single contestation of a water account balance collection, which was forgiven due to the circumstances.

The meeting was adjourned with no public comments.

The Garden City Town Council meets on the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at Garden City Town Hall. The public is welcome to attend.
