HANCEVILLE – Wallace State Community College is preparing for the fall 2016 semester by conducting its annual Lions’ Pride orientation sessions for new students. The college has hosted three Lions’ Pride sessions this summer in Hanceville and two more opportunities (July 25 and July 27) remain for students to attend before the fall semester begins on Wednesday, Aug. 17. Each Lions’ Pride session begins at 1 p.m. and is held at the School of Nursing and Center for Science building.

Lions’ Pride is designed to give new Wallace State students a head start into their college careers, helping them learn more about the college and allowing them to meet one-on-one with an advisor in order to build their fall semester schedule. New students are encouraged to attend a Lions’ Pride session in order to establish a plan of study to accomplish their educational and career goals.

Registration for the fall semester at both the Hanceville and Oneonta locations continues through Aug. 23.

The complete list of fall classes found online at wallacestate.edu/current-schedule.

Wallace State offers classes during the day, evening and weekends at both campuses.  Many courses are available online, and several programs have online completion options, including Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Computer Science, Child Development, Business, Computer Science, Health Information Technology (HIT), Medical Coding, Patient Care Specialist, Pharmacy Technology and Polysomnography Technologist.

If a new student is unable to attend a Lions’ Pride session, Wallace State advisors are always accessible at the college’s Advising Center, located at the James C. Bailey Building. The Advising Center is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. You can contact the Advising Center at 256-352-8040 or Lion Central at 256-352-8236 or (1-866-350-9722).
