GOOD HOPE – The Good Hope City Council came together for a regular meeting this evening. With Mayor Jerry Bartlett on vacation, the meeting was short, with no new business.

Councilman Taft Dillashaw reported that the City will sponsor a Back-to-School Bash on July 29 from 5-7 p.m. at Good Hope Municipal Park. There will be hotdogs, slides and T-shirts. Cooking volunteers are welcome.

Ordinance No. 014-2016, the Annexation of Blake Flynt Property, located at 1027 Day Gap Road, Cullman, AL 35057, was adopted.

Ordinance No. 015-2016, the Agreement with ALDOT for Bavar Creek Bridge, was adopted.

This means that the City has now officially entered into an agreement with ALDOT for the construction of a bridge replacement culvert on County Road 216 (Beech Grove Road) over Bavar Creek.

Construction is tentatively set to begin in September, as stated in a previous meeting; however, that was not confirmed tonight, as Bartlett was absent.

The Good Hope City Council meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Good Hope City Hall. The public is welcome to attend.
