CULLMAN – Late last week, Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) investigators arrested David Chase Warner, 21, of Hanceville, for making a bomb threat at the Cullman County Courthouse last month. The arrest was made following a tip and an investigation by CCSO investigators.
Warner was scheduled to appear in court on June 8, 2016, the date of the courthouse bomb threat, on a failure to appear warrant where he was originally charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Warner confessed to investigators that he made the call from a business in Dodge City in an attempt to avoid going to court.
“We take all bomb threat cases serious because in today’s world you never know if it could be serious or not. I am glad we were able to arrest the suspect who was responsible,” said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry. “I would also like to thank those who sent in the tips and also the investigators for their hard work on this case."
Warner is currently being charged with making terrorist threats. He is being held in the Cullman County Detention Center on a $17,000 bond.
