Cullman County sanitation worker fatally injured

CULLMAN – A Cullman County sanitation worker was killed this morning when another vehicle struck the truck he was working on.

The Cullman County Commission regretfully announces the loss of a valued Cullman County Sanitation Department employee, Harold Jamie Dickey," said County Attorney Chad Floyd. "Mr. Dickey, 34, was fatally injured while working on a sanitation truck on U.S. Highway 231 South on June 9, 2016, at approximately 8 a.m.  Mr. Dickey was working on the back of a County truck when the truck was struck by another vehicle." 

"Our employees are dedicated to public service, and Jamie was no exception.  Jamie was a valuable part of our County work force, and he will be greatly missed.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jamie's family, his wife and children." said Kenneth Walker, chairman of the Cullman County Commission.
