CULLMAN – The Summer Kid Series kicked off this month at Carmike Cinemas 10. It is a great way to have some fun – away from the sun! The movies are appropriate for people of all ages so why not stop by the theater and see a terrific movie on the big screen?
“SKS will run at our location every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. from June 2 through August 4,” said Harold Barnard, Carmike Cinemas 10 managing director. “This special includes admission to the chosen movie, a 16 oz. drink and a 46 oz. popcorn for only $4 plus tax. This is for all customers regardless of age. It is truly an amazing offer!”

During Tuesday morning’s showing of “The Croods,” the theater was filled with children, their parents, grandparents and friends. Rounds of giggles filled the room from time to time as the audience sat and closely watched the movie. Afterwards, there was nothing but praise for “The Croods” – and for the Summer Kid Series!
“I think this is great! It gives the kids something to do besides swimming all summer,” said April Shadix, who was there with her three children. “This is the first time we have come to the movies during this event. The price was awesome; you just can’t beat it. The movie was great – my kids have never seen it before, so they really enjoyed it. I will definitely come back and do this again,” she smiled.
The more ‘sophisticated’ kids in the audience, a group five 15-year-old girls, agreed, “The Croods” was an awesome movie and the price was right. Lanie Jones, Chloe Zinsmeister, Chloe Powers, Kenzie Geisson and Olivia Williams were all in agreement – they are all coming back again!
“It was a really good movie,” said Jones, “plus you get popcorn and a drink too. It’s definitely worth the price!”
“This is the first time I have come to the movies in the morning, I liked it a lot,” Zinsmeister smiled.
“Thank you for making this so affordable for everyone to enjoy,” Teresa Mauldin added. “Go enjoy yourself a movie and make a memory with your family!”
