HOMEWOOD – Jack’s and Kids to Love expand their partnership and commitment to support local foster children by raising funds at all Jack’s restaurants. Beginning June 1 and lasting through July 26, Jack’s customers can donate to help make a difference within the local community. All contributions will be given to Kids to Love, a nonprofit organization committed to educating, sustaining and investing in foster children throughout the Southeast. Jack’s goal is to raise $140,000 within the eight-week donation period.
Kids to Love Founder and CEO, Lee Marshall, a former foster and adoptive child herself, says that Jack’s has been a critical community partner with Kids to Love for many years.
“By Jack’s understanding the benefit a forever family offers to a child in foster care, the company is aiding Kids to Love in sending the message to their customers and employees of the need and the opportunity to make a difference in our community,” Marshall said.
Since 2004, the Kids to Love Foundation have been able to reach over 200,000 foster children, rescuing them and helping meet their needs. The organization’s first commitment is to find forever families for foster children. The organization also helps children succeed through four educational programs, including career opportunities. Each summer, Kids to Love equips more than 5,000 foster children in Alabama and Tennessee for a new school year. Since 2005, the Kids to Love Foundation have awarded 448 scholarships.
Jack’s became involved with Kids to Love in 2011. The partnership began small and over the years has grown into a company-wide partnership. Kids to Love has become an important part of the company’s culture. The foundation hits home with many employees and customers at Jack’s that have adopted children or have been adopted themselves.
“Kids to Love is an amazing organization that our whole company is excited to align with,” says Christy Gravitt, Jack’s brand manager. “The work that Lee Marshall is doing has made a positive impact on those children in the foster care system. We are looking forward to the future impact that we can contribute to in this campaign with Jack’s.”
