BREMEN – Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry this afternoon confirmed that an armed robbery occurred last night just before 10 p.m. at the J&D's Four Way gas station located at 4244 County Road 109 in Bremen. The business is near the intersection of County Roads 109 and 222.
An earlier report from a community source noted the time of the incident as approximately midnight; however, Gentry stated, "It was a couple of minutes before 10 p.m. last night."
Gentry said that two armed individuals entered the store just before 10 p.m. Both were wearing clothing covering their faces. Gentry said the suspects appeared to be males, but that the sex of suspects has not been determined.
There were two employees in the store at the time of the incident. No one was harmed.
Gentry said, "The suspects left the store, heading back toward the interstate." He said the amount of money taken appears to be less than $1,000.
"We don't think the individuals are from here," added Gentry.
Gentry stated that his office is still in the process of pulling video surveillance tapes and photos. He said that once more information is known, the CCSO will release additional details to the public, with the possibility of photos asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects.
