BAILEYTON – A two-car collision occurring around 5 p.m. at the intersection of Summit Road and Holly Pond Road (County Road 1718), located in Baileyton, has left two hospitalized and one Arab man deceased.
Richard Chambers, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene by Cullman County Coroner Jeremy Kilpatrick. Kilpatrick said Chambers was an "unrestrained driver" when the incident occurred.
"The family has been notified; his niece and first cousin have both been contacted and they are notifying the rest of Mr. Chambers' family," said Kilpatrick. "Chambers' wife, Vickie, was in the vehicle. She was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital."
The driver of the second vehicle, Max Miller, 48, of Joppa also suffered injuries and was taken to Huntsville Hospital via ambulance.
The traffic incident is under investigation.
