CULLMAN – A new solar energy system was installed at In-N-Out Self Storage at 106 13th St. in Cullman. The installation was celebrated on Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was attended by Cullman Mayor Max A. Townson and Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce President Leah Bolin.

The solar energy system was installed and will be managed by Ace Solar, based in Tennessee.

At the ceremony, Ace Solar Energy Consultant Tim Kinney mentioned that Ace Solar and Cullman are working together on potential collaborative projects.

“We’ve been working with the city,” Kinney said. “We’re trying to put together something that will reduce energy costs for the city of Cullman.”

Townson stressed the fact that solar energy has been around since the beginning of time, and that now is our chance to take advantage of the potential energy the sun provides.

Ace Solar has solar energy systems throughout the city of Cullman and Cullman County, including multiple systems with Apel Steel, a system at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home and more.

The new system at In-N-Out Self Storage is made up of 96 300-watt panels held up by a 28.8 kilowatt ground mount. The system will provide an estimated annual energy cost savings of $4,412.76 to In-N-Out.
