BREMEN – Today, May 18, investigators with the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office arrested Paul Sandlin, Jr., 60, of Bremen, for possession of obscene material of someone less than 17 years old on his laptop computer.

CCSO investigators were alerted that Sandlin might have images of children on his laptop computer that he keeps at his residence in the Cold Springs community. Investigators arrived at Sandlin’s residence earlier today and discovered several obscene images of children on his laptop computer and placed Sandlin under arrest at that point.

Due to the nature of this crime and because the crime involves minor children, there is limited information that the CCSO can release.

“Our children are our most precious gift from God and I am glad this predator is behind bars where he belongs," said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry. “I would also like to commend the investigators and all those involved in this case for working nonstop to bring justice for the victims in this case."

CCSO investigators worked in cooperation with the Cullman County Department of Human Resources and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing and other charges may be pending.

Sandlin is being held in the Cullman County Detention Center without bond.
